The most important decision is choosing the right colour or colour scheme you’re after. In spite of of you admiring a patterned or textured wallpaper, the overall colour scheme will help you narrow down the everlasting choices so you can begin to look at the next stages of your design process.

Pattern VS plain

Right, so hopefully you have selected your colour by now. It’s time for the exciting bit where you can start looking into wallpapers that are available in the shade you chose, or shades which are close to it.

Overly detailed and printed paper can look unattractive if the room is particularly cluttered or has a lot of clashing items in. If you’re thinking of this print, than try not to have it on every wall and stick to a feature wall. Plain coloured wallpaper can make a room look dull, unless you dress it with right accessories.

Wallpaper VS Vinyl

You need to bear in mind there is different types of wallpapers that are out there, other than the usual rolls of plain flat design paper.

Embossed – this is textured wallpaper which can add depth and an interesting contrast to plain paper. This design isn’t for everyone and can be a danger as it can look old fashioned and a little bit dated.

Vinyl – this type of paper is ideal for any rooms where the walls are likely to get wet. Rooms such as the bathrooms and kitchens can be great when selecting vinyl wallpaper, as they can be wiped down and are easily cleanable.

Vinyl wallpaper is not only a please to the eye, but also incredibly tangible and sensuous to the touch. Silky, shiny surfaces provide these wall treatments with stunning elegance.
